A man in his 40s was stabbed near St. James Park on Monday night and transported to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Toronto police responded to Church and Adelaide streets just after 8:30 p.m. The stabbing may have occurred in a park in the area, though police did not specify which one.

The suspect fled before officers arrived. Police describe him as a white male, five foot 10 inches, wearing a black jacket, black pants, and a black baseball cap.
