Toronto's beloved free outdoor movie season is back. Toronto Outdoor Picture Show announced its full 2026 lineup, and there's genuine variety: from recent releases to classics, from comedy to sci-fi. The series runs from late June through August at multiple city parks, with showtimes starting at sundown—arrive early for a good spot.

The opening weekend (June 26–28) at Christie Pits Park kicks off with Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie, a Toronto-made comedy that'll feel close to home. Festival highlights include a special 35th anniversary screening of Thelma & Louise on August 9, plus appearances from actors Matt Johnson and Jay McCarrol. The final night, August 23, offers an audience choice vote—pick between Millennium Actress, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Life of Pi, Roman Holiday, Pee-wee's Big Adventure, or Little Miss Sunshine. To vote, you'll need to make a charitable donation of $25 or more.

The full slate spans June through August, hitting multiple parks. You'll see everything from The Muppet Movie to Arrival to O Brother, Where Art Thou? to Titanic. Some screenings happen at Christie Pits; others are spread across other city parks, so check the lineup and plan accordingly.

This is quintessential Toronto summer: free, communal, outdoors, no crowds, no tickets. Grab a blanket, bring snacks, and settle in. The nights are long enough now to make these screenings feel special.
