Toronto police arrested and charged a woman Saturday night in connection with a targeted stabbing in downtown Toronto.

Emergency crews were called to Gerrard Street East and Yonge Street just after 10:15 p.m. after reports of a stabbing. Officers located a victim who was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect and victim were known to each other. The woman was charged with possession of a weapon, assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, and three counts of failing to comply with a release order. An investigation is ongoing.
