Bloom Bakery & Café opens floral-inspired downtown Vancouver space with 24-hour plans

Bloom Bakery & Café brought a bright, inviting space to downtown Vancouver's Seymour Street corner when it soft-opened Saturday, July 18. The floral-inspired venue glows with warm lighting, white tables set for two or lingering solo guests, and an aesthetic that feels equal parts botanical and Japanese. Owner Shayesta Azizi, 23, plans to add fresh floral centrepieces as the venue settles in.

Azizi's priority was quality at affordable prices. "The menu is the highest quality. There's no compromise on the quality," she said. "I'm a full-time student, so I look at it through my lens—how much would I pay for this? I'm trying to keep it as low as I can because it's a tough economy right now."

The current menu highlights include an iced strawberry matcha latte (a refreshing earthy-sweet combination), a generously cream-filled matcha crème puff, and an almond croissant with buttery, nutty depth. The café currently operates daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a grand opening scheduled for August 15, when 24-hour service begins.

The space occupies one of Vancouver's busiest corners—a location that already draws foot traffic and promises to fill a gap for late-night patrons seeking quality pastry and matcha in an unrushed, calming setting.
