French Creek Pub, a beloved Parksville institution on Vancouver Island's waterfront, is expanding to downtown Vancouver this summer, opening a second location at the Burrard Hotel.
The new spot will occupy the space at 101–1100 Burrard Street that formerly housed Burgoo. French Creek Pub plans to transplant the island pub's casual atmosphere and signature menu to the city, keeping what has made the original location special: fish and chips, birthday celebrations featuring a novelty bass hat, and the kind of lively, welcoming vibe that draws both locals and visitors.
"What started as a local pub by the harbour on Vancouver Island has grown into something truly special," the pub said in announcing the expansion. The Burrard Hotel's management echoed the enthusiasm, noting the pub is "known for their fish and chips, bass birthday hat, and all-round good times."
While an exact opening date hasn't been announced, the team is targeting sometime this summer. The original French Creek menu also includes shareable items like the "party boat"—a $120 spread of mixed appetizers—and a firework sundae for dessert.
