Update — November 04, 2026: Strange Fellows has opened a redesigned tasting room, an expanded kitchen and a new cafe, Creatures Coffee, developed with Home Island Coffee Partners. The cafe opens at 7 a.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. on weekends, and food and beer service begins at noon.
Strange Fellows Brewing is adding a cafe called Creatures Coffee to its Vancouver space, built with Home Island Coffee Partners, and it will bring what the cafe calls Vancouver's first refillable coffee container program, offering premium beans in a sustainable tin.
The cafe opens at 7 a.m. On weekdays and 9 a.m. On weekends, and beer and food service starts at noon. It will serve espresso drinks, batch coffee, tea and nitro cold brew, with rotating roasts and fresh pastries from ExAnimo Baked Goods.
Co-founder and brewmaster Iain Hill says curiosity about taste and process led the team "deep down the coffee rabbit hole," and before long they had a mini coffee roaster set up among the fermentation tanks. The kitchen has been fully renovated, with rustic Roman-style pizza on slow-fermented focaccia dough, loaded nachos and Talisman-marinated chicken wings among the new shareables.
