Canada Place celebrates its 40th anniversary and the fifth year of Canada Together, a day-long Canada Day celebration reimagined in collaboration with the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
This year's theme, "Weaving together the fabric of a nation," reflects the event's focus on bringing people together through shared experiences, cultures, and stories. Weaving serves as a metaphor for how different perspectives and traditions create something stronger and more meaningful.
The day kicks off with a citizenship ceremony hosted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, welcoming 60 new Canadians. Programming runs throughout the day across Canada Place's waterfront grounds.
The Main Stage features performances from Rebecca Sichon, Spendo, Jessamine, Serengeti, and The Matinee, with Juno Award-winning folk-rock band The Strumbellas closing out the festivities. Inside, the CN Family Zone offers Science World demonstrations, performances from School of Rock's Junior House Band, Indigenous storytelling sessions, a DJ-led dance party, and the annual mascot dance-off.
An Expo 86 exhibit celebrates Canada Place's role in reshaping Vancouver's waterfront four decades ago. The Indigenous Marketplace features handcrafted jewelry, artwork, and home décor from local Indigenous artisans, with traditional weavers and carvers on site. Interactive activities introduce visitors to hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh sníchim.
Canada Together runs all day on July 1 at Canada Place. Admission is free.
