Canada is turning 159 on Wednesday, July 1, and the Lower Mainland is celebrating across a dozen venues with fireworks, live music, food, and community.
The flagship event is Canada Together 2026 at Canada Place in downtown Vancouver, running 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Guests can expect all-day family fun with live music on multiple stages, an Indigenous Marketplace, performers, and food vendors. The highlight is a citizenship ceremony where immigrants receive their citizenship documents.
Not far from downtown, Granville Island hosts the annual False Creek Ferries water ballet and performances by Vancouver International Jazz Festival artists. Visitors can watch the FIFA World Cup matches on a large screen and join in a giant cake-cutting ceremony.
East of the city, Burnaby's StreetFest on Central opens at 6:30 p.m. with several music performances and fireworks at 10:15 p.m.
Crossing the Fraser into Richmond, the Steveston Salmon Festival — Canada's biggest little birthday party — is one of the largest non-profit Canada Day celebrations in the country. Pancake breakfast starts at 8 a.m., the Kids Bike Parade runs at 9:30 a.m., and the main parade kicks off at 10 a.m. The iconic Salmon Bake begins at 11 a.m.; last year it sold out by 12:30 p.m. with 3,000 meals. Barney Pentel and the Legendary Hearts headline at 6:15 p.m.
New Westminster's Canada Day celebration features food vendors, a beer garden, a kids zone, Bubble Soccer, and live music, concluding with a drone show at 10 p.m.
Surrey's main event at Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre features live music headlined by Josh Ross, a family zone, kids' craft zone, amusement rides, and fireworks at 10:15 p.m.
White Rock's Canada Day by the Bay event includes country-roots artist Antonio Larosa at 7 p.m. and Bad Medicine, a Bon Jovi tribute band, headlining at 8:30 p.m. The celebration has a kids and soccer zone; fireworks start at 10:15 p.m.
Delta celebrates at Chalmers Park starting at 4 p.m. with live music, dance and cultural performances, giant games, and a fireworks finale. Langley's celebration runs 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Willoughby Community Park with rides, main-stage entertainment, a car show, a dog show, and pony rides.
Coquitlam's celebration kicks off at Town Centre Park at noon with live music, food vendors, and fireworks.
