Vancouver's Interior Design Show returns September 24-27 to inspire your next home renovation. IDS Vancouver 2026 brings together architects, designers, makers, and design enthusiasts for four days of installations, keynote talks, and exhibitions exploring the future of how we live, work, and build. This year spotlights B.C.'s design community, highlighting local talent, sustainable materials, and innovative approaches to contemporary design.
The show's centrepiece is the 2026 Central Bar, designed by locally-based Synthesis Design Architecture. Constructed entirely from B.C. wood, it features a series of 12-foot timber arches inspired by the province's forests, created in partnership with Naturally Wood and Western Forest Products. The installation doubles as both a gathering place and showcase of wood's evolution as a high-performance building material.
Visitors will be welcomed by Reflection, a new entrance installation from Stark Architecture, using light, scale, and carefully selected materials to shape first impressions before stepping onto the exhibition floor.
B.C. landscape architect Andrew van Egmond presents a living installation exploring the relationship between designed landscapes and the natural world. The exhibit features layered plantings alongside circular and upcycled materials, encouraging visitors to slow down and experience how thoughtful landscape design supports biodiversity and climate resilience.
Returning after its 2025 debut is How We Work, an interactive exhibition examining the future of workplaces. Installations created by Kasian and 126 Design Studio in partnership with Loop Phone Booths explore how offices and shared spaces evolve in response to changing expectations around flexibility.
The keynote program features conversations with Michael Sørensen (Henning Larsen global market director), Mandy Farmer (Accent Inns and Hotel Zed CEO), and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh artist James Nexw'Kalus-Xwalacktun Harry. Designer Tommy Smythe will discuss interior design with Kelly Deck, while journalist May Globus will record live podcast episodes throughout the weekend.
Tickets start at $14 with free admission for kids 11 and under. Find tickets and details at the official IDS website.
