Henrik and Daniel Sedin will race each other up the Grouse Grind on Sunday, September 27, in a charity event that is open to the public for registration.

Grouse Mountain announced the sibling matchup, which will benefit the Sedin Family Foundation — a nonprofit that makes annual gifts to programs supporting children's health and education across British Columbia.

Daniel has consistently outperformed his twin brother in recent fitness competitions since their NHL retirement in 2018. He beat Henrik by about one minute in the Sun Run, by 13 minutes in the Vancouver Marathon, and finished two seconds ahead in a 25-kilometre trail race through Vancouver's mountains. Daniel was also the only Sedin to run the Amsterdam Marathon, finishing with a sub-three-hour time, and once ran the Grouse Grind 11 times in a single day.

The twins will begin their race at 9:50 a.m. PT, while public participants start at 10 a.m. PT. Attendees will be randomly assigned to Team Henrik or Team Daniel, with the winning team determined by three categories: the winner of the head-to-head race between the twins, the best 50 finishing times among each team's participants, and total money raised by each team's members.

An adult ticket currently costs $45.18, though the price will rise on August 1.
