The Odlum Brown VanOpen is returning to West Vancouver's Hollyburn Country Club this weekend after a three-year pause, bringing international professional tennis to the region for the first time since 2022.

The tournament, the largest of its kind in Western Canada, combines WTA 125 (women's field) and ATP Challenger Tour (men's field) events. It has run since 2002, pausing during COVID and again from 2023 to 2025 for Hollyburn renovations.

The men's field features 21 players representing 11 countries across six continents. The top seed, Benjamin Bonzi from France, ranks No. 93 globally. Eight players competing have just come off the main draw at Wimbledon. Other notable competitors include Spain's Pablo Llamas Ruiz (119), Australia's Dane Sweeny (127), and England's Toby Samuel (123). Australia's Alexei Popyrin, a 26-year-old with three ATP Tour singles titles, has been awarded a wild card; he notably defeated Novak Djokovic in the 2024 US Open third round.

The women's field also comes in strong, with 23 players representing 10 countries. Lanlana Tararudee from Thailand, ranked 99, is the top seed at age 21. Nine women's players rank in the top 150. Two Canadians are competing: Kayla Cross (ranked 197) from London, Ontario, and Carol Zhao (ranked 216) from Richmond, Ontario.

The tournament runs July 25 through August 1 at Hollyburn Country Club. International stars including Andy Murray and Naomi Osaka have played here earlier in their careers, alongside Canadian talents like Bianca Andreescu and Eugenie Bouchard.
