Surrey's Sounds of Summer brings eight free concerts in July and August

Surrey Parks is launching its 2026 Sounds of Summer series with eight free concerts featuring a mix of rock, jazz, country, Punjabi fusion, and more. All performances run Wednesday evenings in July and August from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at some of Surrey's most scenic outdoor spaces.
The Woodland Jazz Orchestra opens the series on July 8 at The Glades Woodland Garden, 457 172 St., in South Surrey. Led by bassist and composer Emilio Suarez, the sophisticated 8-piece collective brings a high-energy big band sound blending classic swing tradition with modern jazz elegance.
On July 15, Music City Showcase lands at Bear Creek Garden, 13780 88 Ave., in Newton. FUSIONpresents and Surrey Parks present the second annual showcase featuring Surrey's Coco Larosa, Langley singer-songwriter Drew Storey, and alt-pop artist Sieski.
July 22 brings Mikey Jose & Groffie to Sullivan Heights Park, 14426 64 Ave., in Newton. A neuroscience PhD candidate and independent artist, Mikey Jose builds bridges between brain and heart, drawing cues from R&B and soul greats like Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and Beyoncé.
The Boot Scooters & Line Dancing take over Surrey Civic Plaza on July 29, 13450 104 Ave., in City Centre. This high-energy collective of seasoned touring musicians and professional dancers delivers a full-throttle honky-tonk experience fronted by Emmett Jerome and Nick Varelas, paying homage to the golden era of country.
Ben Dunnill performs August 5 at Darts Hill Garden Park, 1633 170 St., in South Surrey. A local favourite since age 13, his jazz-pop music showcases his vocals and piano playing.
Robyn Froese and a tribute to Fleetwood Mac hit Francis Park on August 12, 15951 83 Ave., in Fleetwood. Froese brings playful, powerhouse vocals to a Fleetwood Mac celebration with a full band.
The Royal Academy of Punjab dance troupe and workshop appear August 19 at T.E. Scott Park, 7014 148 St., in Newton, celebrating Punjabi arts, music, and heritage. The series closes August 26 with Mazacote at Surrey Civic Plaza — an electrifying world/Latin band rooted in Colombian, Mozambique, and Venezuelan rhythms, with a Juno-nominated album addressing socio-political concerns.
