The Under Armour Eastside 10K returns to Vancouver's historic eastside on Sunday, September 27, bringing temporary traffic delays and closures to Gastown, the Downtown Eastside, Strathcona and East Vancouver.
Organizers anticipate disruptions from 5 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The race starts and ends on Cordova Street beside Woodward's Building, then winds west through Gastown and down to Gore Avenue, circles Oppenheimer Park, loops around Pandora Park via Templeton Drive, and returns through Gastown and down to Railway Street before heading back to the start.
The course features "heritage warehouses, century-old brick facades and industrial back streets that runners can't access any other day of the year," according to the event details. Organizers recommend drivers use Hastings Street, Prior Avenue and Terminal Avenue as east-west alternatives instead of Powell Street and Cordova Street during the race window.
Official road closure times and a detailed list of affected streets have not yet been posted by organizers.
Registration has surged 25 per cent year-over-year as of September 1. Participants receive an Under Armour shirt and finisher's medal. The race has raised more than $400,000 across its 13-year history, benefiting the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre, PHS Community Services Society, Urban Native Youth Association, KidSport BC, La Boussole Centre Communautaire Francophone, and Promise Vancouver. As of September 1, runners had raised over $27,000 for this year's event, following 2025's record fundraising of $59,000.
