Flamenco passion ignites Tsawwassen stage with El Ritmo del Destino

El Ritmo del Destino brings raw emotion and rhythm to the stage at Equinox Theatre in Tsawwassen this Friday. Los Gitanos presents a blend of flamenco dance, live music, and storytelling that explores tradition, pride, and unexpected connection.
The production follows two groups divided by tradition and pride, brought together through rhythm, passion, and an unexpected relationship between dancers Maria and Alejandro. The performance features flamenco guitarists, cante (traditional singing), and percussion, with dancers of all ages showcasing powerful choreography and emotional storytelling that moves from joyful celebration through intense conflict to ultimate unity.
Director Bev Mantovani says the show is fundamentally about bringing people together. "Flamenco is raw, emotional and honest — and it has the power to bring people together in a way words cannot."
