Langley RCMP arrested four people and seized a significant cache of drugs and weapons following a traffic stop on June 4. Members of the Langley RCMP Special Response Team conducted a targeted stop at approximately 4:14 p.m. in the 5700-block of Glover Road after observing a vehicle driving erratically, repeatedly failing to maintain its lane and coming dangerously close to striking a curb. During the interaction with the driver, officers observed items consistent with drug trafficking. All four occupants were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking. A subsequent search revealed more than one kilogram of a substance suspected to be cocaine, a quantity of drug packaging materials, bear spray, a large hunting knife, and an imitation handgun. All four occupants have been released while the investigation continues. The seized items are undergoing comprehensive analysis and examination, with results required before proceeding further. Sergeant Zynal Sharoom said the seizure highlights proactive and targeted work to disrupt suspected drug trafficking activity in the community. "The significant quantity of suspected drugs and presence of weapons is deeply concerning and underscores the risks associated with this type of criminal activity," Sharoom said. "Our priority remains the safety of the public, and we will continue to take decisive action to remove these threats from our streets." The RCMP ask anyone who witnesses suspicious activity or has information related to drug trafficking to report it to local police.
