The B.C. Halal Food Fest turns five this year and is marking the milestone with its biggest expansion yet. The festival will move from Holland Park to the Cloverdale Fairgrounds for the first time, centring on the Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre at 17728 64th Avenue in Surrey's Cloverdale neighbourhood.

Running July 24–26, the three-day event will feature over 50 food and drink vendors, 70+ market vendors, live entertainment and stage performances, a carnival with rides for all ages, and family-friendly activities. Admission is free. Organisers expect this year to draw more than 100,000 visitors — nearly double the previous events that drew upwards of 60,000. Past attendees have come from across the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Alberta, and the U.S.

The festival will run Friday, July 24 from 3–11 p.m., Saturday, July 25 from 11 a.m.–11 p.m., and Sunday, July 26 from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. In its first year, the event was a one-day gathering at Surrey Civic Plaza. It moved to Holland Park in year two and expanded to two days. This jump to three days and a new, larger venue signals how the event has become a destination.
