BC Ferries is cancelling sailings between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale Monday due to required hull repairs on the Queen of Coquitlam.

Two sailings were confirmed cancelled: the 12:15 p.m. departure from Langdale and the 1:20 p.m. departure from Horseshoe Bay. An additional four sailings were flagged as at risk of cancellation—the 2:35 p.m. and 4:50 p.m. sailings from Langdale and the 3:40 p.m. and 6:05 p.m. departures from Horseshoe Bay—until repairs are complete.

The Queen of Surrey will continue service as scheduled. BC Ferries said in a service notice that "every effort is being made to complete the repairs as quickly as possible."

Passengers affected by cancellations will be contacted by the Customer Service Centre about rebooking or refunds. This comes as the Sunshine Coast route experienced delays over the weekend, with one sailing departing 77 minutes late and another operating 2 hours and 17 minutes behind schedule.

Starting Tuesday, June 16, BC Ferries is adding a temporary five per cent fuel surcharge on all routes, citing sustained increases in global fuel prices and energy market volatility.
