Ferries from Langdale to Horseshoe Bay are operating under reduced capacity because of a mechanical issue with Berth 1, forcing BC Ferries to restrict how vehicles board.

On Monday, July 6, vehicles can only load at the vessels' main deck. Some reservations were cancelled as a result. Customers with existing reservations are asked to arrive during the check-in window to keep their spots.

"Due to the reduced service, there will be minimal standby space available for those travelling from Langdale to Horseshoe Bay," BC Ferries said in a statement.

Repairs are expected to take up to ten days, with service returning to normal on or before July 15. Late-evening sailings were offered on Sunday to accommodate travellers during the disruption.

For customers continuing to Powell River via the Earls Cove to Saltery Bay route, the reduced Langdale service is not expected to cause issues.
