The body of a 17-year-old boy from Prince George has been recovered from Stony Lake, three days after the boat he was operating capsized.
RCMP say the accident happened Saturday when police were called to the lake after reports of a capsize. The vessel was carrying four people; three made it to shore safely. The teenage operator did not surface and could not be located.
Divers recovered the body Tuesday. Police have not released further details about the incident.
This is a difficult reminder of water safety in B.C.'s lakes, where conditions can shift quickly.
