The Dollarton Highway onramp feeding eastbound traffic onto the Ironworkers Bridge will close from Monday, Aug. 17 through Friday, Sept. 4 between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly for maintenance work, TransLink and Miller Capilano Highway Services announced.

Drivers heading to Highway 1 eastbound during closure hours should take the Dollarton onramp westbound on Highway 1, exit at 22B for Mount Seymour Parkway/Lillooet Road, turn left at Keith Road, and follow signs back to Highway 1 eastbound toward Vancouver.

Northbound drivers should expect delays and account for additional commute time. DriveBC provides real-time updates on conditions.

The closure is part of broader Lower Mainland roadwork this summer. The province is investing over $100 million in resurfacing over 200 kilometres of highway and roads, including work in the Abbotsford area, Hope, and the North Shore. Highway 1 widening through the Fraser Valley continues, with crews increasing lanes at the Mount Lehman Interchange from three to five. That work has reduced traffic to two lanes, with completion anticipated by year-end 2026.
