Vancouver FC made it three wins in four games with a dominant 4-0 victory over Inter Toronto at the Stadium at Langley Events Centre on Saturday.
Nicolás Mezquida opened the scoring for the Eagles less than a minute into the game, then Mohamed Amissi took over, accounting for the next three goals. Amissi's hat trick came on four shots, with seven touches in Toronto's box and one completed dribble in an offensive performance that set the tone early.
The victory comes after a heartbreaking loss to Forge on Canada Day in Hamilton, when VFC scored twice in a row thanks to Terran Campbell and Thierno Bah to lead before Hamilton clawed back to a 3-2 win. This weekend's dominant showing signals Vancouver's rebound heading into the Canadian Championship. The Eagles will host MLS side CF Montréal in leg one of their quarter-final tie on Wednesday, July 8 at 7 p.m. at the Stadium at Langley Events Centre.
