Metro Vancouver is warming up this week, with temperatures climbing to 27°C on Tuesday, July 14, and humidex values pushing close to 30°C inland—but a midweek system will bring scattered showers.
Environment and Climate Change Canada is forecasting sunshine to dominate most of the next seven days starting Monday, July 13. Monday's high will reach 26°C inland with humidex making it feel closer to 30°C. ECCC meteorologist Bobby Sekhon noted that "temperatures will be near or above normal this week," advising residents to "take the usual cautions and enjoy it safely."
A shift arrives midweek when an upper low system developing off the Washington coast moves through the South Coast on Wednesday and Thursday, bringing a 60 percent chance of scattered showers. Daytime highs will cool to the low 20s during that period but are expected to climb back to 26°C by Sunday, July 19.
Overnight lows will dip between 13°C and 18°C throughout the period. No matter the forecast, the region offers plenty to do—from Summer Cinema Series in Stanley Park to the Strathcona Block Party.
