Vancouver could see showers on Canada Day, so bring an umbrella if you're planning outdoor celebrations.

Environment and Climate Change Canada is forecasting daytime highs of 20°C on Monday, June 29 and Tuesday, June 30. Temperatures will drop Wednesday, July 1, and fall to 17°C Thursday, July 2.

"We're in an unsettled pattern," ECCC meteorologist Brian Proctor said. "The current ridge isn't strong, so we're seeing some impulses drift in from off the Pacific."

Proctor warned that showers are possible Wednesday evening and into Thursday morning. The Metro Vancouver UV index will hit 7 on Monday and Tuesday, so sunscreen is recommended even under overcast skies.

Conditions should improve after Thursday. Daytime highs are forecast to climb back up from Friday to Sunday, with the first weekend of July reaching up to 24°C. Overnight lows will dip to around 11°C on several nights.
