Actually Pretty Good closes First Street Market location after five years

Actually Pretty Good, one of Calgary's most recognizable pizza destinations, has closed its First Street Market location after nearly five years of operation. The team behind the pizzeria announced the closure on Instagram Wednesday, thanking the Victoria Park community and food-court patrons "for being a part of our journey there."

APG opened at the downtown food hall in 2021 and became known for its signature pizzas alongside a curated selection of natural wine and beer. The closure is not the end of the brand — the restaurant still operates locations in Bankview and Crescent Heights.

The team behind APG also runs Our Daily Brett, Neighbour Coffee, Business & Pleasure, and Super Variety, making it one of Calgary's more prolific hospitality groups. In its Instagram post, the team teased that while First Street Market is closed, "a new location is on the way, with details to be revealed soon."

The closure comes as Calgary's restaurant sector continues to face pressure. As HighOnCity reported in recent months, dozens of establishments across the city have shuttered in 2026, with closures outpacing openings as the market adjusts to higher operating costs and changing consumer patterns.
