Calan Beef Noodle, Calgary's first hand-pulled noodle restaurant, is closing its downtown location before the month is out after nearly six years of service.

The restaurant confirmed its final day of service at the location will be June 28. While the restaurant did not give a reason for the closure, the team said in an Instagram post: "We are incredibly grateful for the support, loyalty, and memories shared with us over the years. It has been an honour serving the Downtown community and being part of your lunch breaks, family dinners, and special moments."

Calan opened its original outpost on Centre Street back in 2017, becoming Calgary's first hand-pulled noodle restaurant and offering authentic Lanzhou-style cuisine. A second downtown location opened in 2020. The noodles are pulled fresh daily and used in dishes like the signature braised beef noodle soup and stir-fried noodles.

The original Centre Street location at 2219 Centre St. N continues to operate.
