A popular Edmonton smash burger spot is set to open its first Calgary location, bringing its signature stacked patties and made-from-scratch pies to the city.

Flat Boy Burgers builds its menu around a simple idea: certified Angus beef smash patties — single, double, or triple stacked — topped with American cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, pickles, and its house Flat Sauce, all on a toasted bun. Vegan and veggie patties are also available for those who want them.

Beyond the burgers, the spot rounds out its offering with fries and milkshakes in multiple flavours. But what sets it apart for dessert is the key lime pie — made in-house, available in mini and full-size versions.

Currently, Flat Boy operates two Alberta locations: one inside Sea Change Brewing's Beaumont taproom and another in Edmonton at Shiddy's Rumpus Room. The Calgary opening will be the chain's first outside those spots.

While an official opening date hasn't been announced yet, the arrival marks another strong addition to Calgary's growing burger scene. For smash burger enthusiasts in the city, it's worth keeping an eye on.
