Lina's Trattoria, the Italian restaurant brought to life by Lina's Market, has closed its doors after operating for less than two years on Centre Street.

The restaurant opened in August 2024 and announced its closure recently. "To our wonderful Calgary community, serving you has been the honor of a lifetime. You turned our dream into a reality, and we are eternally grateful for every meal and memory shared," the team said in a statement.

The closure isn't the end of the story for the Centre Street N. location. Ownership of the restaurant space has transferred to Scarpetta Cucina, another established Italian restaurant favorite in Calgary.

"While saying goodbye is bittersweet, we are absolutely thrilled that this space is staying within Calgary's incredible Italian culinary community," the Lina's team said. "We know they are going to bring pure magic to these walls."

Scarpetta Cucina will be opening at 2220 Centre Street N.
