Wingstop, the fast-casual chicken wing chain, opens its first Alberta location this week at Deerfoot Meadows, marking the brand's Canadian expansion beyond Ontario.
The location opens June 19, at 277-8180 11th St. SE. Wingstop is primarily known for bone-in and boneless chicken wings, plus tenders. The menu features 12 different wing flavours spanning from mild options like honey garlic and sweet and tangy Hawaiian to heat-packed sauces like Atomic with habanero pepper.
Calgary is set to receive a second location at CF Chinook Centre, which will feature a live DJ booth and modern interior design to handle high traffic. When Wingstop opened in Mississauga in 2024, customers camped out for hours ahead of the opening.
The Calgary expansion marks Wingstop's first Canadian locations outside of Ontario since the brand entered Canada in 2022. The move comes as high-profile chicken chains like Chick-fil-A and Dave's Hot Chicken have built strong presences in the city.
