The Airdrie City View and its sister publication The Rocky View Weekly placed well at the Alberta Weekly Newspaper Associations' 2025 Better Newspaper Competition General Excellence Awards in the 10,000-plus circulation category.

The Rocky View Weekly placed second in both the Editorial Page and Best Overall newspaper categories, marking recognition among the province's top weeklies. The Airdrie City View placed third for Best Front Page.

The General Excellence Awards recognize achievements of a newspaper as a whole, rather than individual reporters or staff members.

Cameron Christianson, publisher of both papers, said the awards reflect the integrity and dedication of the teams producing each week's editions. "I am proud to celebrate with all my staff that sets the standard for greatness with our publications," he said.

These honours accompany individual Awards of Excellence won by reporter Ryan Uytdewilligen in the Best News Story category and editor Tim Kalinowski in the Best Feature Story categories, both adjudicated by AWNA in May.
