The Okotoks Prairie Dogz cornhole league is hosting its second annual Canada Day charity tournament on July 1 in partnership with Hubtown Brewing and the Okotoks Food Bank.

The event takes place in the Viking Rentals Centre parking lot (location subject to change), with bags starting to fly at 11 a.m. Two-person teams play a minimum of six games—four round-robin followed by a double-elimination bracket. Registration is $80 per team and can be done through the Okotoks Prairie Dogz cornhole league Facebook page or the ACL player app.

"It's a family fun event. It's for all ages, all skill levels, all people," said organizer Steve Wilson. "We have everything that you need. You don't need to have any special equipment to come and play. We have lots of equipment, lots of bags, lots of boards. Just show up and play."

Alcohol will be available, and a food truck will be on site. Last year, the tournament raised $1,900 for the Okotoks Food Bank—organizers are hoping to double that amount this year. The event will also accept food donations.

The tournament combines friendly competition with community support, making it an ideal way to celebrate Canada Day.
