Calgary International Airport has earned the title of Canada's most improved airport after jumping 26 places in a new global ranking system.
The AirHelp Score evaluated 279 airports across 76 countries using data on on-time performance, service, facilities, and comfort. YYC landed in 171st place worldwide with a score of 7.45 out of 10—a significant leap from its previous standing.
Among Canadian airports, Calgary ranked third overall, behind Winnipeg Richardson (165th with 7.47) and Edmonton International (166th with 7.47). Other major hubs ranked lower: Vancouver placed 230th, Toronto Pearson came in last at 263rd with 6.95.
Globally, Panama City's Tocumen International took the top spot with 8.48, followed by Fortaleza in Brazil and Cape Town in South Africa.
The improvement marks one of YYC's highest rankings to date, though the airport has faced criticism in recent passenger satisfaction surveys. The jump suggests operational improvements in punctuality and service standards are taking hold.
