Calgary police have arrested two people and seized a substantial cache of drugs, firearms and cash following an investigation that began after information from two overdose death investigations identified a suspected drug trafficker.

The District Operations Team from District 8 launched the investigation in June 2026. On Monday, August 31, a suspect was arrested and search warrants were executed at two southeast residences: the 200 block of Autumn Green S.E. in Auburn Bay and the 14400 block of Mount McKenzie Drive S.E. in McKenzie Lake.

During the Auburn Bay warrant execution, a woman was observed removing items from the residence and was arrested.

Police seized $46,640 Canadian currency and $180 American currency. One rifle, two shotguns, six magazines and 148 rounds of ammunition were recovered. Drug seizures included 1,980.1 grams of cocaine (estimated street value $19,801), 569.7 grams of psilocybin ($11,394), 207.7 grams of methamphetamine ($4,154), 593 codeine pills ($2,965), 127 Adderall pills ($1,270), 49 tabs of LSD ($490) and seven morphine pills ($140). Police also seized 6,200 contraband cigarettes (estimated street value $1,543), drug trafficking paraphernalia including scales and packaging materials, electronic devices, documents related to the investigation, and 11 kilograms of unknown powder submitted for analysis.

Ryan Allan Sinclair, 34, was charged with 10 counts of possession of controlled substance for purpose of trafficking, one count of fraud over $5,000, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of careless storage of firearm, and one count of unsafe storage of ammunition. Sinclair was remanded in custody.

Brigitte Conchita Peters-Palma, 34, was charged with four counts of possession of controlled substance for purpose of trafficking.

Both are scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, September 16.

"This investigation removed a substantial quantity of illicit drugs from our community and disrupted drug trafficking activity," said District 8 Inspector Darry Midtdal. "The seizure of firearms alongside these drugs highlights the serious public safety risks that can accompany the drug trade. We will continue working to remove dangerous substances from our streets and hold traffickers accountable."
