Two arrested in Calgary drug trafficking investigation, stolen gun and drugs seized

Calgary police charged two people after a drug trafficking investigation that yielded a loaded stolen handgun, ammunition, nearly $8,000 in cash, and multiple controlled substances.

Police began investigating in June after receiving information that a man was selling drugs and possessed a firearm. Officers obtained a search warrant for a home in Mayland Heights, where they seized a loaded stolen 9mm handgun, ammunition, cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine. Investigators also believe a suspect discarded a gun while being arrested.

Michael Allen Storey, 45, faces multiple charges including possessing firearms and ammunition while prohibited, drug trafficking, possessing crime proceeds over $5,000, resisting arrest, and other weapons offences. He is scheduled to appear in court in August.

Ashley Lynn Wren, 26, is charged with possessing ammunition while prohibited and failing to comply with a release order. She was expected in court Thursday. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 403-266-1234 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
