Calgary police have charged two people following a three-month drug trafficking investigation that began in June 2026 after information from two overdose deaths.
Ryan Allan Sinclair, 34, and Brigitte Conchita Peters-Palma, 34, were arrested after search warrants were executed at two southeast homes in Auburn Bay and McKenzie Lake, where a woman was arrested while removing items.
Sinclair faces trafficking-related offences, fraud over $5,000, possessing crime proceeds, and unsafe firearm and ammunition storage charges. Peters-Palma is charged with four trafficking-related counts. Sinclair remains in custody. Both are scheduled to appear in court on September 25.
Police seized $46,640 Canadian and $180 U.S.; one rifle and two shotguns; six magazines and 148 rounds of ammunition; 1,980 grams of cocaine; 569 grams of psilocybin; 207 grams of methamphetamine; 593 codeine pills; 127 Adderall pills; 49 LSD tabs; seven morphine pills; and 6,200 contraband cigarettes. An unknown powder weighing 11 kilograms was also seized and submitted for testing. Items recovered included drug-trafficking tools such as scales, packaging materials and vacuum sealers, plus electronic devices and documents.
The total value of drugs, cash and firearms seized exceeds $88,000.
"This investigation removed a substantial quantity of illicit drugs from our community and disrupted drug trafficking activity," said District 8 Inspector Darry Midtdal. "The seizure of firearms alongside these drugs highlights the serious public safety risks that can accompany the drug trade. We will continue working to remove dangerous substances from our streets and hold traffickers accountable."
