Calgary Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with multiple voyeurism incidents at rental properties he owns.
Tenants at a rental property discovered multiple hidden cameras last month, including devices concealed in a surge protector in the bathroom and a smoke detector in a bedroom. Police then executed a search warrant at a property in southwest Calgary's Springbank Hill, where they seized multiple electronic storage devices. Investigators believe the same landlord installed similar devices at another rental property in northwest Calgary's Brentwood.
On July 11, police arrested Sooryong Park, 41, who also uses the alias Nick Park. He was charged with one count of break and enter and five counts of voyeurism. Police believe Park may also operate as a landlord in Vancouver and Toronto, targeting women of the Korean community.
Park is scheduled to appear in court on August 7. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this or similar incidents is urged to contact Calgary Police at 403-266-1234, or to submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
