A man wanted on 21 warrants and connected to a stolen vehicle incident is now facing charges, according to Calgary police.

On June 17, the police auto theft team found a stolen 2012 Toyota Corolla in northwest Capitol Hill. After staking out the location, officers found a man parking the Corolla inside a garage at a home in Hawkwood the next day.

Police contained the Hawkwood home and took the suspect into custody. A search warrant for the residence led officers to the stolen Corolla, keys, and the original license plate.

Dustin Andrew Sklerek, 39, now faces 16 charges alongside 21 outstanding warrants—one for removing his electronic monitoring bracelet. The new charges include possession of stolen property over $5,000, driving while prohibited, fraudulent concealment, ten counts of failure to comply with a release order, and driving an uninsured vehicle.

Sklerek was scheduled for court Monday. Anyone with information about this incident can call police at 403-266-1234 or leave an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
