Calgary Fire Department responded to a house fire in the northwest community of Hawkwood around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 26. Crews arrived at the 200 block of Hawkstone Drive to find light smoke and one person with injuries.

Firefighters discovered a working fire in the rear of the single-family detached home and a fire on the rear deck. A second person with injuries was found at the rear of the home. Fire crews brought the fire under control and extinguished it, and EHS ambulances transported both injured people for assessment.

Calgary Police Service arrived on scene and assisted in assessing the cause of the fire, which remains under investigation. Nine fire apparatus and more than 20 firefighters were deployed to the scene. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
