Heavy rain will continue across Calgary and southern Alberta through Monday, June 29, with total rainfall amounts between 50 and 100 millimetres expected. Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued yellow weather warnings for the region, indicating a moderate impact level with high forecast confidence.

The warning comes after widespread rain occurred earlier this weekend. With the ground already saturated, the additional rainfall is likely to cause overland flooding, washouts, and impacts to infrastructure and property. Localized flooding is likely, and some roads may become impassable.

"Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas," the warning states. "Fast-moving and rapidly rising water can sweep vehicles away and damage infrastructure. Don't drive through flooded roadways. Watch for washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts."

Rain will continue into Monday before slowly diminishing Monday night, with conditions ending by Tuesday morning. Residents are advised to avoid driving through flooded areas and to watch for washouts near waterways.
