Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Calgary and surrounding areas, with total amounts expected between 50 and 100 mm.
Rain will begin Sunday morning and continue into Monday before diminishing Monday night, ending by Tuesday morning. Water is likely to pool on roads and in low-lying areas, and fast-moving water near rivers, creeks, and culverts poses a risk to vehicles and infrastructure.
Areas under the warning include Okotoks, High River, Foothills County, Diamond Valley, and Calgary. Environment Canada urges residents to avoid driving through flooded roadways and to monitor alerts for updates.
