Missing Calgary boy Parker enters sixth day as police release new video

Eleven-year-old Parker has been missing since Thursday, July 16, and Calgary police released a second video Monday showing him walking near McKnight Boulevard and Centre Street NW at 12:47 p.m. that day, just minutes before surveillance captured him on Travis Crescent NE.

Parker is on the autism spectrum, non-verbal, and has a habit of locking doors behind him. He stands 4'11" and weighs approximately 90 pounds. Police say he may become scared if approached by strangers and urge the public not to approach him but to call 911 immediately while keeping him in sight.

More than 300 police personnel, RCMP members, and 120 trained searchers have covered a combined distance of 6,500 kilometres in four days. Acting Staff Sgt. Scott Guterson said police are treating the investigation with the understanding that Parker is alive. "I'm not going to speculate on a number on what we think his survivability rate may be," he said. "There are far too many factors which we don't have any information about."

Guterson cautioned the public against interfering with professional searches or trespassing on private property, but encouraged residents to thoroughly search their own properties, including sheds, garages, vehicles, and small spaces. Police have received at least 175 tips and are using an AI program to process the large number of submitted videos. Citizen-led search efforts have also emerged, including the Facebook group Find Parker YYC and an unofficial search map. Volunteers have been searching alleys, parks, and neighborhoods since the boy disappeared from his day home in the 0-100 block of Connaught Drive NW.
