Mounties joined an expanding search for an 11-year-old Calgary boy who went missing on Thursday from his day home in Cambrian Heights.
Parker, who is non-verbal and autistic, was last seen sometime between 11:08 a.m. and 11:41 a.m. on July 17, 2026, on Connaught Drive N.W. He is described as 4 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 90 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen shirtless, wearing grey shorts and black noise-cancelling headphones.
More than 300 Calgary Police Service members — investigators, patrol officers, and specialized units including air support, mounted patrols, mountain bike and canine teams — have been searching around the clock. About 120 trained volunteers from Search and Rescue Alberta are also involved. Police have received approximately 80 tips and followed up on each one.
Articles of clothing believed to belong to Parker were found around noon Friday in the 0 to 100 block of Northmount Drive N.W. Police have been using Parker's personal preferences in their search efforts, including playing themes from his favourite Disney music in hopes of drawing him out.
Acting Staff Sgt. Scott Guterson urged the public to check properties repeatedly. "Check every nook and cranny of your property... be constantly aware the little guy is still out there," he said. Guterson cautioned that Parker has a tendency to lock doors behind him, so even secured doors should be opened and spaces checked. He also asked impromptu searchers to avoid areas being scoured by professionals but said the public's careful property checks remain important.
The boy's family released a statement expressing anguish over his absence: "Since he went missing, our family has been living every parent's worst nightmare. Every hour that passes without knowing where he is or whether he is safe has been incredibly difficult for us. Parker is deeply loved, and he is missed immensely. We just want our son home."
