An Alberta Correctional Services probation officer has been charged for accessing confidential information after a five-month investigation by Calgary Police Service's sensitive investigations unit.

On January 22, 2026, Calgary Police became aware of allegations that the officer had improperly accessed protected databases outside the scope of her work to obtain confidential information. A search warrant was executed on April 30, where electronic devices were seized. After examination, officers determined that unauthorized data had been accessed.

"Maintaining public trust requires that allegations of misconduct are thoroughly investigated," said Insp. Nicole Barrett of Calgary Police Professional Standards Section. "We are committed to protecting sensitive information and ensuring individuals who abuse positions of trust are held accountable."

Navjot Dhillon, 25, was charged on Wednesday with one count of breach of trust and one count of unauthorized use of a computer. She will next appear in court on August 19, 2026.
