Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Calgary area

Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the Calgary area Tuesday afternoon as heavy rainfall moved across parts of the city.

The storm is expected to make its way across south Calgary, moving slowly to the southeast, and could bring strong wind gusts, heavy rain, and up to quarter-size hail.

An air quality warning issued Monday also remains in effect, with moderate- to high-risk smoke levels expected to diminish throughout Wednesday.
