A severe thunderstorm watch is in place for Calgary on Canada Day, Environment Canada warned Wednesday.
Conditions are favourable for severe thunderstorms capable of generating strong winds, large hail, and heavy rain. The agency also flagged the possibility of funnel clouds.
Environment Canada reminded Calgarians to head indoors when lightning is present.
Forecaster Kevin Stanfield said the high Thursday is expected to reach 21 C, with a chance for isolated thundershowers and scattered showers in the afternoon. The low is slated to drop to 10 C due to the potential storms.
