Two more suspects have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal poisoning of 18-year-old Sahil Grewal, who died in hospital on April 6, 2020, three days after consuming a mixture of cough syrup and fentanyl.
Harmanjot Chumber, 24, from Edmonton and Dalvir Sidhu, 33, from Rockyview County were charged on July 16 with first-degree murder and attempted murder. Both are scheduled to appear in court next month. Authorities say both were "parties to the offence."
The attempted murder charge relates to the substance being allegedly intended for a second person, who did not receive or consume it.
A third suspect, now 24-year-old Mohit Sandhu, was previously charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder on July 7, 2025. The allegations against all three have not been tested in court.
