Zach Johnson arrives at Rogers Charity Classic as hottest player on PGA Tour Champions

Zach Johnson is locked in for the 2026 Rogers Charity Classic (August 17-23 at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club) — and he's arriving as perhaps the hottest player on PGA Tour Champions.

Johnson, who turned 50 on February 24, has wasted almost no time making the senior circuit his competitive playground. He made his PGA Tour Champions debut at the James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational in March and promptly won, becoming the 22nd player in tour history to win in his first start.

Then he kept going. Johnson has four victories already this season, including last week's Portugal Invitational, where he shot a 19-under-par 197 to beat Stewart Cink by two strokes. He's finished inside the top eight in all 11 of his starts and owns nine top-five finishes.

Johnson sits second in the Charles Schwab Cup standings, behind only Cink, and has earned more than $2.4 million this season. Cink and Johnson have combined to win eight of the first 17 events on PGA Tour Champions in 2026, including three of the five majors — no other player has won more than one victory this year.

Johnson brings a decorated résumé to the senior circuit: 12 PGA Tour victories, the 2007 Masters, the 2015 Open Championship and a turn as U.S. Ryder Cup captain in 2023.

He joins fellow World Golf Hall of Famer Padraig Harrington in the field, bringing the total hall of famers to four alongside Bernhard Langer, Retief Goosen and Vijay Singh. The final 78-player lineup will be unveiled August 14.
