KDays Returns This July With New Rides and Lineup
Edmonton's annual summer festival takes over the Expo Centre July 17–26 with concerts, food, and gravity-defying circus.
KDays is back, and if you've been to Edmonton long enough, you know the summer isn't official until the midway opens. This year runs July 17 through 26 at the Edmonton Expo Centre and Exhibition Grounds—a ten-day cascade of rides, food, live music, and the kind of controlled chaos that defines summer in the city.
Two new rides are headlining the midway: Downdraft and Super Miami, both designed to deliver the kind of adrenaline that keeps people coming back. The usual suspects return too—the Ferris wheel, the spinning rigs, the games that are easier to watch than to win. Ride-wise, it's straightforward: show up, pay for tickets or wristbands, and let the midway do its thing.
The Foodie Fairway is where the real action happens. Every stand promises something exceptional to try—new food competition entries are announced ahead of the festival, and returning favorites always draw crowds. It's the kind of eating experience that only works at a fair: fried, adventurous, unapologetic. Sit down with your plate and catch a show.
For live entertainment, there's the new Wassa Africa by Cirque Kalabante—acrobats executing gravity-defying moves and breathtaking contortion set to West African rhythms. Multiple showtimes throughout the ten days. As for concerts, the headliner list includes Ty Dolla $ign, Mother Mother, Noah Cyrus, Pennywise, Down With Webster, and The Beaches. Concerts are free with general admission, though VIP upgrade tickets are available. Openers matter too—they always bring energy.
Getting there is easier than parking: Edmonton offers free Park and Ride lots around the city that connect directly to the festival grounds. If you're driving, KDays parking is pay-by-plate at $20 daily. Concordia University across the street offers $15 parking—shorter walk, lower cost. General admission starts at $15.45. It's the Edmonton summer tradition for a reason.
