Woman dies after being hit with truck, man charged with manslaughter
A 52-year-old Edmonton man faces manslaughter charges after the May 27 death of Danielle Sanders, 46, of Evansburg.
A 52-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of a woman struck by a pickup truck west of Edmonton.
On May 27 at 8:38 a.m., Alberta RCMP responded to a report that a man had hit someone with his truck before loading her into the bed and driving away. Multiple RCMP units located the vehicle and suspect. The victim, Danielle Sanders, 46, of Evansburg, was hospitalized with severe injuries.
Sanders died in hospital on May 28. An autopsy performed May 29 ruled her death a homicide.
Neil Gow, 52, was arrested and initially charged with aggravated assault, dangerous driving causing injury, and flight from police. On June 1, the aggravated assault charge was withdrawn and upgraded to manslaughter. Gow remains in custody and appeared before Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert on June 1.
