Frozen dessert recall expands at Victoriaville shop over undeclared allergens

Quebec's agriculture ministry issued an alert Friday over seven frozen dessert products from Au péché mignon in Victoriaville that contain undeclared allergens, warning people with sensitivities not to consume them.
The ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) classified the alert as Class 1 and identified the affected products sold only at the shop's location at 479, boulevard Jutras Est: Colère Chocolatée, Le Zeste Gourmand, Gourmandise Mélangée, L'Orgueil Bleuté, L'Avarice Végé, Paresse Fruitée, and L'Envie Fromagée. All formats and lots of these items are affected.
Undeclared allergens include soy (in six products), wheat and milk (in L'Avarice Végé), and sulfites (in Gourmandise Mélangée). The products come in cardboard containers with transparent plastic lids.
Au péché mignon is conducting a product recall and agreed with MAPAQ to issue the warning as a precautionary measure. The alert applies to people with wheat, soy, or milk allergies, those sensitive to sulfites, and people with celiac disease or gluten-induced disorders.
The ministry advised anyone with affected products in their possession not to consume them. If symptoms appear after consumption, people are instructed to consult a health professional. Consumer questions can be directed to smsaia@mapaq.gouv.qc.ca.
This is the third MAPAQ alert for Au péché mignon products; prior warnings involved undeclared wheat and milk allergens in earlier product lines.
