MAPAQ and Sakana-Ya Sushi inc. issued a joint recall warning Tuesday for sushi products containing undeclared mustard in their wasabi-style condiment. The company, based in Quebec City at 380, 45e Rue Est, initiated the recall as a precautionary measure.
The warning applies to anyone with a mustard allergy. All sushi package sizes and lot numbers are affected. Products were sold refrigerated in transparent plastic trays across multiple establishments throughout Quebec.
No allergic reactions associated with these products have been reported to MAPAQ as of Tuesday's announcement. The recall is classified as class 1, the highest risk category. This is at least the second undeclared allergen warning for Sakana-Ya sushi products in recent public notices.
